Nina Be – Teaches for Y.O.G.A. for Youth and brings yoga to the Triangle community

NINA BE (MA, MEd, E-RYT-500, NCC, IAYT) is the Director of MindBody Centering Yoga & GLOBAL BREATH STUDIO slated to open 11/17/13 @ 119 W. Main Street in Durham.  She is a teacher, yoga therapist, certified counselor, writer, restauranteur, artist and performer, who has been teaching, choreographing and designing wellness programs internationally for over 35 years. Presently, Nina Be directs  MindBody Centering Yoga programs at Burt’s Bees, for JOBSTART (in the N.C. State Women’s Prison System) and supports  adolescents as a Y.O.G.A. for Youth teacher. Her successful RYT 200/500 and 900 hour Yoga Therapy Certification Programs of MindBody Centering Yoga are currently being offered in North Carolina for groups and individuals. MBCYT Trainings and Retreats are currently being seeded in various international locations.  As co-director of LiveGlobally.com, her vision of quelling children’s global poverty through the practice of mindful yoga in community inspired by her teacher Thich Nhat Hanh, has begun by supporting the building of a school in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya, for the Ingrid Children Education Centre.

As a single mom, i am honored to pay it forward and teach for Y.O.G.A for Youth because without the unconditional love of my two daughters, I would not be here.  As a child raised in a violent military home, my parents didn’t have the skills to acknowledge my worth.  i am honored to teach for Y.O.G.A for Youth because i know that the youth in america are often misunderstood and abandoned for their fresh ideas and responses to their culture.  i know what if means to be acknowledged with dignity and respect by someone who cares enough to listen and connect.  it is my wish that every student i meet can know a bit better how important they are in the miracle of life and that being committed to fulfilling their unique purpose, is truly important. – Nina
