The “I AM the Dream” Fundraising Campaign celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King's legacy of nonviolence, equality and respect for all.
In the spirit of Dr. King, Y.O.G.A for Youth has launched it's 2nd annual I AM the Dream campaign. In accordance with the yogic principal of seva (or selfless service): yoga studios, and teachers are helping by promoting our campaign to their students who are donating 'a yoga class' to support the health and development of urban youth.

Monies raised will partially defray the costs of the Y.O.G.A. for Youth Program. Our Program Budget reflects the costs associated with offering free yoga classes for at-risk, inner-city youth ages 10-18, including stipends for 35-45 yoga instructors and staff time to coordinate class schedules.
Your Own Greatness Affirmed (Y.O.G.A.), Inc. is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization incorporated in 1999 (Federal ID No. 31-1623522) that conducts a youth development program in a variety of settings. For the past five years, Y.O.G.A. for Youth has provided free yoga classes for approximately 350-400 young men and women per month at public schools, youth detention facilities and group homes in Los Angeles County.
The Y.O.G.A. for Youth mission is to provide urban youth with tools for self-discovery that foster hope, discipline, and respect for self, others and community. It provides young people with a method to develop the social, emotional, and interpersonal skills they need to make constructive choices to overcome the barriers they face, including poverty, a lack of health and fitness options, and low expectations for academic achievement
Your sponsorship will help Y.O.G.A. for Youth continue to address the challenges our youth face including devastating cycles of violence, substance abuse, and teen pregnancy. Your sponsorship will enable Y.O.G.A. for Youth to continue its important work helping youth successfully transition from negative attitudes and situations to positive behaviors and viewpoints.
