Krishna Kaur
Krishna Kaur -
Krishna Kaur, a dynamic heart centered Yoga teacher, began studying with Yogi Bhajan in 1970 and has been teaching the art and science of Kundalini Yoga and Self Awareness for 40 years all over the world. She is certified by the 3HO Foundation and the Kundalini Research Institute as a Kundalini Yoga Teacher and Trainer of both Level I and II. She is the regional coordinator for 3HO Africa, which unites Kundalini Yoga in Africa. Krishna founded Y.O.G.A. for Youth, a non-profit dedicated to training yoga teachers to work with at-risk youth and creating yoga programs in schools and juvenile facilities. Krishna opened the first yoga center in South Central Los Angeles in 1971 and continues to train yoga teachers, teach workshops, and bring yoga to the underserved populations throughout the world. A catalyst of many yoga-inspired movements including the International Association of Black Yoga Teachers and Sat Nam Street Players, Krishna has many commendations from local and state leaders.Krishna has a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Redlands where she graduated with honors.(To learn more about Krishna's Kundalini Yoga training please visit www.KrishnaKaur.org)
Eugene Fisher
Gene is one of the founding members of the Watts Learning Center and President of the school’s Board of Directors. Mr. Fisher has served on the WLC Board since the school opened in 1997. The school's mission is to provide a world-class education to children from low-income families. As a consultant in 1995, Mr. Fisher conducted focus groups that revealed the public’s great concern about low achievement in traditional public schools, especially for children from inner city communities. The results of these studies were the foundation for forming Watts Learning Center which has received many awards for academic excellence including the 2007 California Charter School of the Year Award. Mr. Fisher spent many years in government, working in myriad roles for the South Coast Air Quality Management District. As the organization’s chief lobbyist, Mr. Fisher led efforts to help pass numerous laws regulating air pollution sources and improving air quality in California. He has received numerous commendations from local government, and state & federal legislative bodies for his work toward improving California's environment. Mr. Fisher also served as Senior Vice President at Medicine for Humanity and worked in South Africa to mitigate cervical cancer, the number one cancer killer of women in Africa. He earned a B.S. in chemistry from UCLA and an M.S. in environmental studies from California State University-Dominguez Hills.

Amrit Singh Khalsa
Amrit is a Kundalini Yoga teacher and trainer with a PhD in Aeronautical Engineering from MIT. After 11 years working for Yogi Bhajan and his conglomerate of for-profit and non-profit companies, Amrit became the CEO of an organic food company, and is currently the Chief Operating Officer of the Trivedi Foundation, a non-profit organization studying science and consciousness, helping people connect to their spirit. A background in science affords Amrit the keen ability to translate ancient yogic philosophy into useful and relevant metrics. He brings this unique talent to Y.O.G.A. for Youth board, as well as two other non-profit boards: the Kundalini Research Institute and the Guru Ram Das Center for Medicine and Humanology. His passion for yoga along with an ability to help people connect with their unlimited inner resources, has lead him to where he is today. Amrit enjoys being a spiritual person living in Santa Monica, raising a family, earning a living, and working to maintain a constant connect to spirit in the midst of the worldly life.

Nzingha Asantewa
Nzingha Asantewa is the CEO and President of Ankobia Group, LLC. Nzingha is a personable and inspirational entrepreneur with over 21 years of business operations and management experience. Ankobia Group has delivered human capital strategies since 2006, providing consulting, recruiting, and temporary staffing in both the commercial and government markets. Nzingha’s first priority in business is customer service.Prior to founding Ankobia Group, Nzingha served as Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of Associate Record Technician Services Acquisition Corp., a Los Angeles based staffing company offering a variety of health information management services across the country. Beginning in 1990, Nzingha served more than 16 years with Associate Record Technician Services Acquisition Corp., starting from an entry level position and promoted to positions of increasing responsibilities through strong personal initiative, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to exceed client expectations. A native of California, Nzingha holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from California State University Dominguez Hills. Nzingha is a writer and certified Kundalini yoga teacher. She serves on the Board of Directors of Y.O.G.A. for Youth, a non-profit program that provides urban youth with tools for self-discovery that foster hope, discipline and respect for oneself and one’s community.
